When I heard that Microsoft made a 44 Billion Dollar bid for Yahoo!, I immediately thought why would they do this? I think even a mash-up off Google’s two major competitors couldn’t help them beat Google and that is obviously what Microsoft is trying to accomplish with this acquisition. They are trying to buy Yahoo as it is beginning to lose a lot of it’s visitors and having a hard time trying to figure out how to monetize their asset’s. Basically, I’m simply confused and stunned at the decision. Not even considering that trying to get this passed by the EU is going to be harder than losing the charges Microsoft already has with the EU. Don’t get me wrong, Microsoft could have a huge plan to simply merge Yahoo! with Windows with Office with Visual Basic, but I can’t see it and I don’t think a lot of potential investors see the reason either.

PS- Although, there is the possibility they are simply trying to draw attention away from those EU charges…
